Uplyme is a picturesque village in East Devon, set within the Lyme Bay and East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just inland from Lyme Regis on the Jurassic Coast.

Our proposed development, designed by renowned architect Ben Pentreath, at Crogg Lane sits on the edge of the village, where Spring Head Road meets Crogg Lane. The River Lim runs along the northern boundary, framed by mature trees, creating a natural and peaceful setting.

In June 2022, we hosted a design workshop with local stakeholders to help shape ideas for the site. The proposal reflects both community feedback and the site’s unique character.

We’re bringing forward a mix of 12 homes—affordable, discount-to-market, and open market—in line with the Uplyme Neighbourhood Plan. The development is designed to reflect the traditional architecture of Uplyme, while offering more choice than conventional housebuilding models. Buyers will be able to select from a range of internal layouts to suit their needs, with optional external features such as bay or side windows to personalise their homes.

The homes draw on the charm of Uplyme’s cottages and houses, combining smaller terraced homes with wider-fronted dwellings. Materials will include local stone, coloured render, and slate-style roofs, with chimneys contributing to a familiar village roofscape.
